The Department of zoology was established four decades ago in the year 1974.

Our Department was established in 2012 to help students from rural back ground to continue their higher education.

The undergraduate course Plant Biotechnology was started in the academic year 2012 – 2013.

The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1971. B.Sc. Mathematics with Physics and Statistics as ancillaries was introduced in the academic year 1971-1972.

The Department of History was established in 1970 offering B.A. History course, affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.

B.Sc Degree course in Geography was introduced in 1978-79 with Physics, Botany and Statistics as Allied Subjects.

B.A. Degree Course, Branch XII English was introduced in the academic year 1971-74.

In the beginning, the department was functioning as ancillary department teaching general economics to history students.

Computers are now affecting every sphere of human activity and bringing about many changes in industry

The Department of Commerce was started in the Year 1986 and B.Com Degree Course was started with a sanctioned strength of 60 Students.

The Chemistry department was introduced in the year 1974-75.

Tamil is one of the classical language in the world. It is very rich with vast literary works. As literature is considered to be a subject which teaches life.
